Hi, I’m Funmilayo Oyeogbe, but everyone calls me Niya. I’m a proud native New Yorker, raised between Brooklyn and Queens, and now living in New Jersey. My journey in health and wellness has always been a big part of who I am. I’ve been passionate about fitness and healthy living for years, and in 2016, I fully embraced a vegan lifestyle. It wasn’t a difficult transition for me—I was already eating clean and conscious of my health.

In January 2025, I launched Purpl Vegan after learning valuable lessons from my first venture, The Purple Root. That experience pushed me to rethink, regroup, and come back stronger because this is my passion. My goal with Purpl Vegan is to provide high-quality, affordable, and ethical products for the vegan and health-conscious community.

Everything we offer is Vegan-Friendly, Eco-Friendly, and Cruelty-Free. Purpl Vegan isn’t just an online store—it’s a community and a safe space for animal lovers worldwide. Our growing brand will include skincare for men, women, and children, pet care, supplements, makeup, apparel, and more.

As an animal lover and proud cat mom of two, giving back is important to me. That’s why a portion of our proceeds will go to three charities close to my heart: Best Friends Animal Society, ASPCA, and the Animal Welfare Institute. I also stay active in my local community, volunteering to help keep our parks clean.

As an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, I wholeheartedly support the invaluable work done by organizations like The Trevor Project and The Center. These organizations provide essential resources, support, and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, and their efforts are instrumental in fostering a more inclusive and understanding society. I stand with them in their mission to uplift and empower LGBTQ+ individuals, and I am committed to promoting respect, acceptance, and equality for all.
